As a couple’s therapist, Brigid uses Dr Sue Johnston’s (EFT) Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples, which is based on Attachment Theory. EFT gets to the core of a couples distress by accessing the underlying emotions that drives their reoccurring conflict and patterns of negative interactions. EFT provides the therapist with a map to help couples find their way back to each other, to reconnect and build a secure emotional bond together. Brigid works in a relational, collaborative and compassionate way and cares about her couples; because she holds a deep belief in the value of intimate relationships...

Some relationships can become unhealthy and destructive if this becomes your reality, Brigid will support and explore the couples options as they emerge. . Brigid believes that our relationship/marriage with our partner is one of the most important things in our life and one of the biggest sources of our pain is when things go wrong and we can’t make our relationship work. The most common reason couples seek help is when they feel they are growing apart, they experience emotional disconnection and instead of pulling together to face life’s challenges and difficulties they become disengaged and distant. Brigid’s style is gentle, honest and encouraging. She strives to create a rapport with her couple/individual that is grounded in respect, trust, compassion and empathy.
