The first session is about getting to know what your concerns are. The therapist will explain all about the nature of the work and spend some time discussing the ethical guidelines. You are encouraged to ask any questions you have.
Yes, Reconnect operates from the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality and ethical behaviour. All our counsellors follow a strict Professional Code of Ethics as laid down by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. {IACP}.
However there are circumstances where the therapist has an obligation to breech confidentiality
– If at any stage the therapist feels the client is intent on harming themselves or others.
– Where the therapist has concerns or grounds to believe a child is in danger, neglected or is at risk of being sexually, physically, or emotionally abused. Reconnect follow Children First Legislation.
– Historic sexual abuse.
– Criminal activity.
Confidentiality will be discussed with the clients at the first session.
Reconnect will be available to you at your scheduled appointment time. However in the case of an emergency you will need to access other resources. Contact your GP, or if necessary, emergency services
At Reconnect we strive to create a safe secure and growth enhancing space for all couples. Whilst same sex couples often fall into the same polarising cycles as heterosexual couples, they also face different stressors and challenges that we help work through in couples therapy.
Individual sessions last one hour.
Our couple sessions last an hour and quarter.
Couple therapy is €80.00 per session.
Individual therapy is €60.00 per session.
Payment is by cash or cheque at the end of each session. Please note we do not have a facility in our rooms for credit or debit cards. Notice is required for cancelling a session and fees are charged for late cancellations.
Every couple goes through challenging times and while you both may have navigated through other difficulties and faced them together, we all need guidance and support sometimes. Sometimes life can be overwhelming, and in those circumstances it can be beneficial to seek outside help.
